After two days of delay, the jury trial for the Peter Mallory trial began Wednesday morning.
The potential jurors entered the courtroom shortly before 9:30 a.m. Initially 42 jurors entered the room. After the questions pertaining to being biased, prejudice for or against, and having a preconceived opinion about the case were asked, three jurors raised their hands and were dismissed.
Attorney for the prosecution, Kevin McMurry, continued with more questions for the potential jurors to narrow down the selection. Some of the questions involved knowing people involved in the case and family of those involved in the case, which included Mallory’s family, witnesses, the LaGrange Police Department amongst a few.
