LHS student receives TREA scholarship

Melissa Fenn, daughter of Angie Fenn, is the 2012 recipient of the Curmilla Furgerson Scholarship sponsored by the Troup Retired Educators Association. The $1,000 scholarship was presented to Fenn during the April 26 meeting of TREA by Pam Ramsey, TREA Scholarship Chairperson.

Fenn is a 2012 graduate of LaGrange High School and plans to attend Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, where she will major in middle school education. While attending LaGrange High School, Fenn was president of the Future Educators of America, a member of the National Honor Society, academic bowl team, completed advanced placement classes, an active member of the LHS chorus and was chosen a Granger Star Student. She also participated in the Mr. and Miss LHS contest.
