Men stabbed in seperate weekend incidents

A Greenwood Street man was charged with cutting his brother with a knife early Sunday morning after a fight.

Police said Jamarrio Williams, 29, was found behind two locked doors in the basement of the home he and other family members shared. Residents at the home said the suspect came home drunk and began arguing with a juvenile resident about being on the phone.

When he thought the juvenile was being “disrespectful,” according to a report, Williams allegedly went to his room and grabbed a box cutter. A female resident confronted Williams and he pushed her, according to a report, and when his older brother, Terrance Williams, 32, stepped in they got into a physical altercation.

Witnesses said Jamarrio Williams cut his brother during the fight. Terrance Williams was taken to West Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Jamarrio Williams was charged with aggravated assault and was awaiting a bond hearing this morning.

In another incident this weekend, Dexter Lamar Bray, 42, of Patillo Road was charged with aggravated assault and battery after he allegedly stabbed a co-worker in the back at Kimberly-Clark at 1300 Orchard Hill Road Sunday afternoon. The victim, Benjamin Buttrill, 36, of Roanoke, Ala., said he got into a fight with Bray, who punched thim hen stabbed him with a knife.

Buttrill was treated at West Georgia Medical Center for his injuries and released. Bray was not at the business when officers arrived. He later turned himself in to the LaGrange Police Department.
