Mrs. Ruthie Kate Prather Howard, age 97, of LaGrange, died on February 26, 2013, at the Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Howard was born in Roanoke, Alabama, on April 26, 1915, to the late Jackson Prather and Lura Phillips Prather. She retired from the Milliken Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Lauderdale and Holston Howard.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her daughter Betty Joan Costley of LaGrange; grandson, Wayne Costley and his wife Gail of LaGrange; great grandchildren, Renee Addison, Jared Costley, Christie Haro, Whit Costley and his wife Magenta and Matt Osborn; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will gather with friends at the cemetery just prior to the graveside service. Rev. Mike Hornsby will officiate. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higginslagrangechapel.com.
