Dear Editor,
I first would like to thank the LaGrange Daily News for the professionalism that you display in each edition of your paper. Your ability to report unbiased news shows the quality of your journalist.
The Troup County News (TCN) does not show compassion towards victims of crime. It is unfortunate that we have a newspaper in our community that plays favoritism towards certain leaders in this county.
It appears that on many cases she tries to get a laugh out of people by printing a funny headline about a terrible experience that a victim of a crime had just endured.
On many occasions the TCN had to print corrections in their paper where false information had been printed about someone. A professional newspaper would not print such headlines as this.
In the latest edition TCN owner Judy Murphy printed an article headlined “We Print You Decide” with the four names of the Sheriff candidates listed below. Nowhere in this article is any candidate mentioned but James Woodruff. This was an obvious attempt of showing how bias she is toward a certain candidate.
She also mentions filing open records request on other candidates but mentions nothing of there findings. It’s sickening that every article I read she and Sheriff Turner attempt to slander James Woodruff and his family. It’s clear where Mrs. Murphy gets her information from and any citizen in a right frame of mind can see through their collaborated attempts to portray James as something he is not. I have personally known James for most of my life.
He is a dedicated public servant to this county and its citizens. What I personally can appreciate about James is he worked faithfully for a number of years under the current administration, and I am sure there is plenty of mud he could sling if he chose to. But he has made every attempt to run a clean campaign without feeding people’s negative emotions to attain votes. Thanks James. Continue to do what’s right and everything will take care of itself.
