Mr. William David (W.D.) Arnold, Sr., age 88, of LaGrange, GA., died February 15, 2013 at Emory University Hospital.

He was born September 27, 1924, in LaGrange to the late Will and Ludie Melton Arnold. Mr. Arnold was married 67 years to Mary Worthy Arnold, who survives him. Mr. Arnold retired from West Point Pepperell after 50 years of service, and was a charter member of Ayers Memorial United Methodist Church, where he also served as a Turstee, a Board member and the first Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed repairing motorcycles and small engines in his shop. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his brothers James Arnold and Howard Arnold, two sisters Lucile Cook and Emma Johnson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Brenda Bagley and her husband Louis of LaGrange; son David Arnold and his wife Lisa, also of LaGrange; brother, Joe Arnold and his wife Ann of Montgomery; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Letha Arnold of Montgomery, Katherine Anderson of LaGrange and Ruby Davis and her husband Bill of LaGrange; brother in law, James Worthy and his wife Ruth also of LaGrange.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
