The Miss Troup County Scholarship Pageant is gearing up for its 38th year.

The Miss Troup County Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant is in its 18th year. Eighteen talented and beautiful ladies are competing for the titles Saturday, 19th at 7 p.m. at the Troup High School Fine Arts Building.

The Miss Troup County Pageants are an official preliminary to the Miss American Pageant. Winners receive scholarship money.

“This is an excellent opportunity for young women to advance their academic careers in order to prepare for the professions of their choice and to make a difference in their communities, maybe even the nation. Whether they win or not, they always benefit from the experience, which challenges them to hone their talents and skills,” Miss Troup County Scholarship Pageant Executive Director Judy Neighbors said.

The box office opens at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Reserved seats are $25 and the price includes a program book. General admission is $15 and students and children tickets are $10.
