Graveside services for Dorothy B. Smith, age 85, of LaGrange, Georgia, will be held at 1:00 pm CST, Tuesday, February 5, 2013, from Shadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. S.T. Janney officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm CST on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Tanner Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Larry Smith (wife, Judy) of Temple, GA; three grandchildren, Denson Redden, Christopher Smith, and Dustin Smith; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Redden, Serena Redden, Triston Redden, Lily Smith, Iris Smith, and Daniel Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Emileigh; one sister, Lucille Bolling of LaGrange, GA; six brothers, Burl Blackmon of Augusta, GA, Arnold Blackmon of Zerphy Hills, FL, Fred Blackmon, Hollis Blackmon, Wayne Blackmon, and Phillip Blackmon all of Tampa, FL.

Mrs. Smith was born January 14, 1928, the daughter of Ezra and Eva Barker Blackmon. She had worked as a spinner for Callaway/Milliken. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John William Smith; daughter, Peggy Sivell; two sisters, Ruth Fant and Mary Clardy; four brothers, Earl Blackmon, Aaron Blackmon, Benjamin Blackmon and Dewey Blackmon.
