Moonlight Ballroom Dance Club hosts a dance at LaFayette Christian School Gym, 1904 Hamilton Road, at 8 p.m. with a pre-dance salsa lesson at 7 p.m. by John and Carol Woolbright of Columbus. It will be casual dress and visitor couples are welcome at $20 per couple.

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will accept real Christmas trees, not artificial trees, for recycling through Jan. 11. Trees may be dropped off at designated locations in the parking lots of Yellowjacket boat ramp in Georgia and Rocky Point boat ramp in Alabama. All decorations — tinsel, lights, garland, bulbs, etc. — must be removed from the trees before dropping them off.

Xanadu Road Productions presents “The Miracle Worker” at New Horizon Theatre. Proceeds from the production will go toward The Perkins Institute for the Blind and New Horizon Theatre. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade starts at 1 p.m. at Granger Park and will pass Lafayette Square, ending at Boyd Park on Smith Street.

Ralph Lynch and Friends featuring “Elvis” perform 50s music at 7 p.m. at the Active Life center on Ragland Street. Admission is $5.

Monday

A beginner scrapbook class is offered at the Active Life Center on Ragland Street at 11 a.m. There is no cost for the class. A registration form and supply list can be picked up at the center.

The Salvation Army, 806 Murphy Ave., provides emergency food assistance 9 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3 p.m. Picture ID and Social Security card are needed.
