One killed, two injured in Monday head-on collision

A Woodbury man was killed and two others were airlifted for their injuries after a wreck Monday afternoon.

According to a preliminary state patrol report, Jararex Dequez Moore, 19, was killed on impact after the 1994 Honda Accord he was driving southbound in the 800 block of South Davis Road collided head-on with a northbound Ford pickup truck driven by Joel Upchurch, 36, of Mooty Bridge Road.

Upchurch and Moore’s passenger, Marco Deangelo Dozier, 22, also of Woodbury, were flown to Columbus Medical Center for their injuries.

The preliminary report said that the Accord drifted into the truck’s lane “for unknown reasons.” Troopers still were investigating.
