A Hogansville man has been charged with furnishing alcohol to the teens involved in a wreck April 14 where one was killed.
Leslie Keith Bishop, 25, of East Main Street in Hogansville was arrested about 3 p.m. Friday and charged by LaGrange police with furnishing alcohol to persons under 21 following an investigation, said Capt. Dale Strickland.
Christopher Mabe, 16, was killed and Timothy “Trent” Ferguson, also 16, was injured when the 2005 Nissan Maxima they were riding in left the roadway in the 2200 block of Mooty Bridge Road and crashed into several trees at about 5:30 a.m. April 14, according to LaGrange police.
Officers said the car was southbound at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway. Beer cans were found in the vehicle.
Mabe was a junior varsity football and baseball player at LaGrange High School.
