WWII Vehicles to be displayed on Saturday

Lewis O. Powell IV | Daily News

Local resident Terry Hoppe sits in the driver’s seat of a World War II era AFKWX Military Cargo Truck. This truck, along with a number of other WWII era military verhicles from his collection, will be displayed Saturday on Main Street from 10-4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Hoppe started collecting and restoring WWII-related vehicles with his father and they continue this as ‘a labor of love while we preserve the history.’ This truck in particular was used by the U.S. miliatary in France and remained there until a few years ago.

This World War II era Willys Jeep from Hoppe’s collection will also be included as part of the display. The display will include two jeeps and four trucks, all used during the war.
