Friends of Chirstoper Mabe gathered Monday at the crash site where he died to honor his memory.
Sophomore student Lauren Kiskunes said she had known him for three years and cheered for him on the LaGrange High School football team.
“He was always really funny and would always try to make people laugh,” said Kiskunes. “He would always come to you and give you a hug and make sure you knew he loved you. Everybody loved him. I never heard a bad thing said about him.”
Kiskunes said she learned of Mabe’s death when she woke up Saturday morning and saw a friend crying, whom had stayed the night at her house. Her friend told her what had happened.
Another friend of Mabe said they were together almost every weekend and described his friend as someone that was always smiling.
“He always had a smile on his face. I can’t remember a time when he didn’t, honestly,” said junior Justin Gordon. “If you ever needed to talk about anything he was there. He would make it into something funny to get your mind off it. He was a clown.”
