LaGrange College Homecoming 2012

The inflatable slide at Panther Palooza II on Friday night was popular

with the children of alumni and friends.

Lee Barreras, owner of Hippie the Clown Event, creates a tattoo for a

child at Panther Palooza II.

Nancy Alford, one of three recipients of the college’s inaugural

Honorary Alumni Awards is greeted by Head Baseball Coach Kevin Howard at

the Saturday morning recognition breakfast.

College President Dan McAlexander presents Marianne Murphy with an

Honorary Alumnus Award Saturday morning. She and her husband, former

college president Dr. Walter Murphy, received the honor, along with

former college dean Nancy Alford and former college trustee Speer

Burdette.

This year’s three new inductees into the college’s Sports Hall of Fame

also were grand marshals for the homecoming parade. Shown here heading

out in their convertible, they are, from left, Larry Thompson Jr., J.P.

Johnston and Lee Richter.

Bailey, Harrison and Carter Mitchell, the children of LaGrange College

graduate Matthew Mitchell, wait for the start of the homecoming parade

along Dallis Street.

The sisters of Phi Mu ride their award winning parade float.

The college mascot and cheerleaders bring up the rear in the Saturday

morning parade.

Representing Phi Mu sorority, Morgan Habbison from Fayetteville was

crowned this year’s homecoming queen. Here, she adjusts her crown after

receiving it from last year’s queen, Melody Hurston. Phi Mu also won the

SGA-sponsored banner and parade float competitions.

The newly crowned homecoming king, Trevor Lane from Dade City, Fla.,

escorts the queen from the playing field after halftime ceremonies.
