Local artist Chris Hagebak says he’s inspired by his recent trip to Tokyo and would love to revisit Japan one day. “It was phenomenal,” he said of the seven-day adventure. LaGrange City Council has set a hearing date for May 14 to discuss a sign variance for the Medical Center Pharmacy at 300 Mooty Bridge Road. The pharmacy needs the variance to allow for the larger sign, which doesn’t meet the requirements of the city sign ordinance. West Point City Council decided Monday night to give the majority of money set aside for libraries to Hawkes Library in West Point. A man was killed on a motorcycle about 7 a.m. Saturday at Hammett Road and the Whitebluff subdivision just north of Hightower Road. Troup 911 reports said the man, whose name was not released this morning, went off the road and was trapped under a fence. A report was not available from Georgia State Patrol this morning.
