LPD goes global with social media

From LaGrange to Algeria and back, the LaGrange Police Department is making a lot of friends.“Our Facebook page reaches around the world — it’s global, we’ve got ‘likes’ on there from all over,” said LPD Detective Chris Pritchett, as he sat behind his desk clicking away online. “Let’s find some: The UK, Vietnam, South Korea …”The list goes on.Pritchett, Sgt. Robert Kirby of the criminal investigations section, along with two other officers manage the department’s social media outreach and online presence. To date, their Facebook page has more than 5,600 followers and some posts garner more than 30,000 views, Pritchett said.
