CARROLLTON – They’re perfect where it counts.

The LaGrange Grangers embarked on their Region 5-AAAA schedule on Friday night, and they came away with a 30-12 road win over Central-Carroll.

The Grangers struggled to a 1-3 record in non-region play, but after a week off, they came out and delivered a dominant road performance against the Lions.

LaGrange controlled the first half, surging to a 20-0 halftime lead.

Central-Carroll hung tough in the second half, but it never got closer than 17 points.

Jakoby Smith made his first start of the season at quarterback, and he found Jamari Thrash for a pair of touchdown passes in the first half.

Amad Ogletree and Cornell Kendrick each had touchdown runs, and Austin Stamper made a field goal.

The Grangers started the scoring with Smith hitting Thrash for a 55-yard touchdown pass, and the two hooked up for a 35-yard touchdown later in the half.

In between those two touchdowns, Ogletree scored on a 15-yard run.

In the second half, Stamper made a field goal to push the lead to 23-0 before Central-Carroll scored to make it 23-6.

LaGrange answered with a 35-yard touchdown run from Kendrick, and Central-Carroll scored one final touchdown to cap the scoring.

LaGrange will look to make it two in a row when it hosts Cedartown on Friday.
