World Series team looking for financial help

The Troup National 9-10-year-old all-stars are headed to the World Series, and the team is looking for donations to help with the cost of the trip.

The team will represent Georgia in the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series that will be held in Lexington, S.C. from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13.

Donations of any size will be accepted, and sponsorships of $250 or more will get the name of an individual or a business on a banner.

A bronze donation is $250, a silver donation is $500, a platinum donation is $750, and a gold donation is $1,000.

Sponsorships and donations should be sent to Troup County Parks and Recreation, 9-10-year-old World Series team, at 1220 Lafayette Parkway, LaGrange, Ga.

Donations and sponsorships are needed by Aug. 3.

Troup National is 10-0 in tournament play, and it wrapped up the state championship with a 7-3 win over Perry on Sunday.

In its 10 tournament games, Troup National has outscored its opponents 146-20.

Team members are Trevor Booton, Trey Cook, Colton Esposito, Cole Garner, Ty Medders, Reed Morris, Devon Murphy, Preston Pressley, Seth Stargell, C.J. Stephens, Jesse Swan and T.J. Wilkerson. The coaches are Danny Swann, Chip Medders, Ricky Cook and Lance Morris.
