FAYETTEVILLE – Finally.

The Troup Tigers, after dropping their first nine games this year, broke through against Whitewater on Friday in the final game of the regular season.

In a game that ended with six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter after lightning was spotted, it was Troup dominating the action on the way to a 28-0 victory.

In his final high-school game, Troup senior running back Mess Bonner had three touchdowns, and sophomore quarterback Montez Crowe scored his first touchdown.

Bonner had two long touchdown runs in the first quarter to put Troup on top 14-0, and he added another scoring run in the second quarter to give his team a 21-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Crowe’s touchdown followed by Michael Young’s fourth extra point capped the scoring.
