The Cavaliers weren’t quite that prolific a day later against the Bulldogs, but it was still another blowout win, and as has so often been the case of late, head coach Terry Hayes was able to get everybody significant playing time.
“We played everyone, and we did a good job offensively, defensively, and in the transition game,” Hayes said.
Ernest Patillo led the Cavaliers with 20 points, and Hayes said “he had guys one on one, and he took the ball to the basket.”
Dre Martin added 19 points, Braylon Sanders scored 13 points, and Kedrick Ramsey came off the bench and had 11 points.
The Cavaliers will be on the road against the Pepperell Dragons on Tuesday, and they’ll have a chance to wrap up the top seed for the region tournament with a win.
Callaway closes the regular season with a region home game against Rockmart on Friday.
In Saturday’s girls’ game, the Lady Cavaliers had a hard time getting their offense going, but despite scoring just 12 points in the first half, they were only down by three points.
In the second half, Callaway heated up and blew past Cedartown on the way to a 50-37 win.
Senior Tanesha Johnson paced the Lady Cavaliers with 18 points, and all of those points came in the second half.
