A TSA employee remained hospitalized today after being accused of kidnapping a young female in Atlanta, then taking her to his Hogansville residence and sexually assaulting her.

Randall Scott King, whose age and street address were not given, abducted the woman Wednesday evening from a MARTA parking lot in southwest Atlanta, police said.

The alleged victim said after the assault, she was released by her captor, who gave her a suicide note and instructions on where to deliver it.

Union City police alerted Hogansville police about the incident early Thursday.

Hogansville officers obtained search warrants and found King at his residence with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds. Police did not describe the type or extent of his wounds. King was airlifted to Columbus Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition this morning.

Criminal warrants against King were obtained by MARTA and Hogansville police. The charges were not specified.

King was identified as an employee of the federal Transportation Safety Administration, which is assisting in the investigation.

Hogansville police said the investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when the probe is completed.

Why did we spend the money to airlift this guy? Seems like a waste to me.

Disturbing to say the least. All this drama surrounding TSA has apparently made for good news copy. Apparently, they've even made a movie about it:

I wasn't aware that MARTA had a parking lot at the airport... this doesn't make any sense. You ride MARTA into the airport so you don't have to park at the airport. Therefore, this location is incorrect. Was this a parking lot on a MARTA train route where people normally park their cars in order to ride the MARTA? Or, was this woman grabbed at a MARTA train station at the airport. This would be good information to have if it was reportedly correctly - especially for those who travel and ride the MARTA often to the airport. Thanks!

wouldn't it be interesting if it turns out this guy commited rape after sitting in some back room behind a security scanner for 8 hours watching women appear "virtually" nude?

The fact that this is a TSA employee is only relevant in one of two scenarios (and the author merely titillates by not following up on either of these).

1)Is this indicative at all of the TSA employment screening process? This is what many people fear - but unfortunately, we can't tell merely from this article. (It could be a NASA astronaut, for that matter - any duct tape or diapers in his car?)

2)Is there evidence that the victim had been screened by this TSA employee? THAT would be very interesting - learn that he got a peek and her identity first, before following her home. Again, though, the article merely leaves us wondering.

TSA can't even screen their own rapist employees, and yet these morons are our last line of defense against terrorists. Typical failed government agency who's main goal is simply to employ the otherwise unemployable.

Former assistant TSA administrator Mo McGowan stated that there are times when we must give up our 4th amendment right. Apparently, TSA agents (aka American Protective League / Gestapo) believe that when we set foot on airport property, we give up not just the 4th, but ALL rights, and that TSA agents have the right to kidnap and rape you as part of their "search". These are the so-called "professionals" that strip search nuns and little kids. The Nuremburg trials proved that "just following orders" is not an excuse, and I hope more local DA's will step to the plate and prosecute these sexual preverts.

Hopefully, he was thoroughly searched and patted down before being allowed to board the helicopter airlift.
