The Troup Lady Tigers are hoping to bounce back from their first loss of the season today.

The Lady Tigers, who opened the season with five straight victories, took loss No. 1 on Saturday in their first game in the Chick-Fil-A Bear Brawl tournament in Warner Robins.

Houston County jumped out to a 9-0 lead, and it went on to beat Troup 51-39.

Troup was set to play its second tournament game today at 10 a.m.

“We came out real sluggish and they jumped out on us for a 9-0 run,” Troup coach Carla Winston said. “We lost to a good team, but a lot of the mistakes and turnovers that we made were unforced.

“I ended up having to rely on my bench players and they aren’t as skilled but they hustled their hearts out.”
