On Thursday, I went to the drivers license bureau to renew my license. As I was leaving the Dallis Street building and started down the steps, I fell backward and banged my head on the concrete. Fortunately for me, there was were men also standing there. One of them got in front of me and held out his hands to me. The other man got behind, and they lifted me up on my feet.
I was extremely dizzy, so they stood with me until everything stopped spinning. They stayed with me and walked me to my car. I was so grateful that they were there and were so willing to assist me.
The Dallis Street building is a very nice place and it is much easier to get your driver’s license now than it used to be. However, the steps are very steep for an old lady. If there had been a rail to hold on to or if there had been another entrance with no steps, I am sure I would not have fallen. Perhaps, the county will consider installing rails.
Again, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to the two gentlemen who were there. They could have been robbers and taken my purse and abandoned me. They didn’t, and I trusted them. Again, I’m very grateful.
