The vehicles went off the road after the collision and struck a Diverse Power utility pole. There was evidence of a fire at the vehicles, and passers-by were reported to have pulled a person from the SUV.
Troup County 911 officials said the incident occurred at 10:37 a.m. and one person was flown out for medical care.
The name of the injured person and other details were not immediately available.
