Mr. Welborn was born March 19, 1924, in Carrollton, GA, son of the late James Welborn and Sara E. Stitcher Welborn. He was a member of Baptist Tabernacle and was retired from West Point Pepperell, Dunson Mill Division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie C. Welborn.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Myrna Welborn; 4 children, Dale Sprayberry, Justine Brooks and her husband Greg Brooks, Theresa Cole, and Ronnie E. Welborn and his wife Missy; 8 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arlen Welborn.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jimmy McMillian and Reverend Bobby Bozeman officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the home of his wife, Myrna Welborn, and will receive family and friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
