Dewey Norris, 69, of Five Points, AL, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home.

Dewey was born October 17, 1942 in LaGrange. He was the son of Olean Earnest Norris of LaGrange, and the late Dewey L. Norris, Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of Glenn U.M.C. He worked for many years as a machinist and also owned and operated the Snack Shack.

Survivors other than his mother include his children, Denise Norris Wood of Pine Mountain, Dana (Rodney) Hurst of Clanton, AL, Wayne Norris of Homer, NE, and Courtney Hilyer of LaGrange; grandchildren, Kendall (Justin) Dukes of Taylors, SC, Melissa Norris of Allen, NE, and Hunter Hurst of Clanton, AL; great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace Dukes and Anderson James Dukes, both of Taylors, SC; brothers, Allen Norris of Abbottsford and Earl Norris of Big Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will gather at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 12 noon to receive friends. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Striffler-Hamby Chapel. A private burial will be held in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Dewey Norris.
