From staff reports

Hogansville police plan to start an “Explorer” program for youth at the department as soon as next month.

Law enforcement exploring is a worksite-based program for youths who are 14 and have completed the eighth grade or are between the ages of 15 and 21.

Law enforcement explorer programs help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities in the field of law enforcement, Assistant Chief Tony Lattimor said.

The program will meet once a month.

Interested youths may call the Hogansville Police Department at (706) 637-6648 or Carson Comer, the program’s regional representative in Columbus, at (706) 327-2634, Ext. 227.
