Mr. and Mrs. Marc Edward Acree announce the engagement of their daughter, Marisa Kathryn Acree, to Curtis Jonathan Shields, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis Shields of Birmingham, Ala.
The wedding will take place at 6:30 p.m. on June 23 at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Benton Mills Lee of Polkton, N.C. She is a graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated with honors from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. She will graduate with a master’s degree in teaching from Georgia State University in May 2012. She is a certified public accountant and teaches middle school math in the Fulton County School System.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Dr. Catherine Miller DuPree of Macon. He is a graduate of Homewood High school and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2008. He is employed with Urjanet Energy Data in Atlanta.
