Jack Waymon Gillie, 78, entered into rest on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

Jack was born on July 31, 1933 in Hogansville. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force from which he retired having obtained the rank of Master Sergeant.

He was also a forty year member of the Air National Guard in the 202nd EIS, and later retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Equipment Allowance Specialist.

A football fanatic, Jack officiated for GISA High School Football for forty years and for GHSA High School Football for twenty-five years. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, and will be remembered by his friends and family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His parents, William E. Gilley and Gertrude Davis Gilley; and sister, Mary Lowery, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Peggy Estes Gillie, Warner Robins; children, Charles Robert “Chuck” Gillie (Daphne), Gordon, Darlice Goulding (Rick), Warner Robins, and Amy Layfield (Keith), Warner Robins; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl and Robert Gilley; sister, Mildred Robinson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
