I am writing to thank the wonderful people and corporations of LaGrange and West Georgia for their generous support of the United Way of West Georgia, Inc.
Thanks to the hard work of Campaign Chairman Robby Burch and his campaign cabinet we are thrilled that we surpassed our $1,111,111 goal! However, we did not surpass it quite as robustly as was reported in the LDN on Monday.
We have raised a little over $1,150,000 not the $1,300,000 or $1,500,000 that was reported. This is important for the public to understand because we have had to reduce the funding of some of our agencies over the past few years due to the downturn in the economy and resulting decrease in our campaigns. While we are striving to return to a campaign of that size, we are not there yet. However, with the continuing support of the community, we hope to be back at that level of campaign in the coming years!
