Mrs. Maggie Henderson of LaGrange passed away Monday.
Mrs. Henderson, a native of Heard County, was born January 28, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Berry and Lona Childs Person. She was a homemaker and united with the Canaan Baptist Church at an early age. Her passions were cooking, gardening, tilling, planting and cultivating for more than 80 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Henderson; a daughter, eight brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.
She leaves to cherish her loving spirit and colorful memories, four daughters: Joyce (Johnny) Simpson; Bernice (Freddie) Dunson, LaGrange, GA; Jean Person and Ann Williams, Atlanta, GA; son: Jerry Person, Decatur, GA; one brother, Eddie B. Person (Odessa); one sister, Willieruth Person; eighteen grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren; thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends whom she loved and cherished dearly.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Canaan Baptist Church, Highway 219 North. Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at their home at 121 North Street and at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Johnny Simpson at 101Hearthstone Drive.
