Name, age and address: Lewis Davis, 49, 6071 Mooty Bridge Road, northern Troup County.

Occupation: Local businessman and homebuilder.

Education: High school graduate, attending both public and private schools in Troup County.

Family: Married for 17 years to Gay Davis. She and I have one son, Trey Davis, 15 years old and a rising 10th grader at LaGrange High School.

Relevant experience:

I am a native resident of Troup County. My family goes back to the early 1900s and I know what makes this area great. I am a Christian, a land-owner and a businessman in the private sector for 30 years. I want to serve this great county and help it grow.

Why are you running?

I have a passion to see this community do well. Troup County really is a great place to live and I want to help improve it for the next generation. Just like my father felt – I owe it to my son, as well as all of our county’s children to do my part to help make Troup County the best it can be. I would like to be the voice of cooperation and working together to make a better tomorrow for this county.

What are the biggest issues in in the county right now?

Over the last few years we have seen some unraveling of the American dream on a very personal level, business closures and job losses, income levels as well as property values have declined while property taxes seem to be going up. All of this has eroded the available public funding for all our vital services.

What can you do to address the issues?

Just like you, our government must be very frugal and make wise choices. It must be honest, open and receptive to the needs of the people and the long-term needs of the county. I am a team builder and can work together to build a better future.

Additional comments:

While I want your support I urge everyone to vote no matter whom they choose. Be part of the solution and let your voice be heard. If you select me I will make you proud of that decision.
