The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra board of directors recently held its 2012 annual meeting to install new officers and board members and feted retiring board members for their service.
President Will Ellis recognized retiring board members Nancy Stevens and David Lock, thanking them for their service and helping the LSO fulfill its mission of enriching the community through music. Ellis also recognized new board members Anthony Criswell, Anne Duraski, Will Jones, Natalie Shelton and Gene Silcox.
Officers for the 2012-13 year also were installed. Serving a second term as president is Will Ellis. Other officers include Gary Mayer, president-elect; Gail Daniel, vice president; Dwayne Newsome, treasurer; Deedee Williams, secretary, and Scott Smith, immediate past president.
LSO board members said the group is proud to play an important role in the arts in LaGrange and Troup County, having performed for more than 6,000 music lovers – young and old – during the 2011-12 season.
