Transitional center inmate takes money from work, doesn’t come back
LaGrange police are looking for Michael Walker, whose age was unavailable, who didn’t return to the LaGrange Transitional Center at 100 Jim Hester Road after his job at Subway ended Thursday.
Staff at the transitional center, which houses men released from prison and on parole, reported Walker missing Friday morning after his curfew time ran out.
When police went to where Walker worked, the Subway at 163 Commerce Ave., they found video of a man suspected to be Walker taking $900 from the register of the restaurant. Walker was responsible for closing and locking the store and was the only employee at the business at the time of the theft.
Walker, who will be charged with misdemeanor theft after the incident, is still missing. He is originally from Waynesville.
