The LaGrange Lady Grangers blanked homestanding Hardaway 7-0 Wednesday afternoon to collect their first win of the season.

LaGrange opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Harris County a day earlier.

“It’s always nice to get that first win,” LaGrange head coach Jan Jones said. “Hopefully we can start a win streak.”

Junior pitcher Emily Anderson delivered a gem, striking out 10 in seven innings to get the shutout victory.

At the plate, Makenzie Traylor delivered a two-run home run to lead the way.

Lauren Robinson added an RBI double, and Bailey Parker contributed an RBI single.

Traylor, Robinson and Parker are all sophomores.

“The sophomores did a really good job for us today stepping up for us,” Jones said.

Little went right during Tuesday’s loss to Harris County, and Jones was pleased with how the team bounced back.

“We talked about some things we weren’t too happy about, and they responded well,” Jones said.
