The LaGrange Daily News received a letter Monday morning from the the Georgia POST Director of the Operations Division Ryan P. Powell stating that Troup County Sheriff’s Candidate James Woodruff’s POST certification was never revoked. The following is the letter sent to this newspaper:

To whom it may concern:

This is to confirm that James T. Woodruff is a Georgia certified law enforcement officer, in good standing, with the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. Mr. Woodruff never lost his certification. In December of 2009, POST Council voted to revoke his certification; however, Mr. Woodruff appealed that decision and the case was resolved with him accepting 12 months probation. He completed all terms of probation and is currently in good standing.

Ryan P. Powell, Director

Operations Division

Georgia POST Council

Jeff Brown Says Donny Turner’s Lawyer Dan Lee Paid for ‘Troup Mothers’ Incorporation.

Looks like Dan Lee Might need to be added to the "List owing apologies".

Will you print a retraction, Troup County News? Probably not, only real journalists abide by the rules.
