CIS Dine Out For Kids


CIS of Troup County participates in CIS of Georgia’s annual statewide Dine Out For Kids fund-raising and awareness event, in partnership with the Georgia Restaurant Association, today. Proceeds will help provide more educational programs for at-risk students served by CIS of Troup County. Local restaurants participating in the DOFK are Burger King locations on Lafayette Parkway, New Franklin Road and Roanoke Road; DJ’s Wings & Things on Hogansville Road; Moe’s Southwest Grill on Lafayette Parkway; Roger’s BBQ of Hogansville on Main Street, Hogansville; Taste of Lemon on Morgan Street; and Zaxby’s on Lafayette Parkway.


Book fair to benefit Humane Society


Books-A-Million will hold a book fair benefiting the LaGrange-Troup County Humane Society on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bookland in LaGrange Mall. The Humane Society also will be on hand with the mobile adoption unit, weather permitting, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vouchers are required at time of purchase and can be found online at www.lagrangehumane.org or the Lagrange Troup County Humane Society Facebook page, at the Humane Society office in the City of Lagrange Animal Shelter on Orchard Hill Drive and at the mobile adoption unit on the day of the book fair. HOPE for a Day breast cancer walk


The third annual HOPE for a Day breast cancer walk will be Sept. 29. The 10-mile walk begins at Lafayette Society for Performing Arts and ends at Lafayette Square. Walkers raise a minimum of $500. Registration is $100 and forms are available online at bfflhopeforaday.org, or for information call 706-302-0886 and leave a message.


Junior Service League hosts attic sale


The Junior Service League will host its annual Attic Sale on Oct. 6. All funds raised will help to benefit the community via mini-grants and projects. Donations needed and can include furniture, china, glass, linens, toys, baby items, books, holiday, decor and more. To make a tax-deductible donation, call Liz Greer at 706-333-1482.
