Troup County’s Romney-Ryan Headquarters officially will open with a ceremony at 2 p.m. Sept. 22.
Members of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s extended family will be on hand for the ceremony.
LaGrange has a Romney connection – LaGrange Art Museum director Karen Briggs is cousin to former Michigan Gov. George Romney and his son, Mitt.
A group of local Republicans have worked to open the Romney headquarters here. Troup County Democrats say a plan to open an Obama-Biden headquarters is in the works.
The local committee to open the Romney-Ryan headquarters includes Helen Rice, Jeff Lukken, Danny Daniel, Jeff Brown, Page Estes, Jim Thornton and Ford McClain.
