The Troup County News will be sold to a local businessman.

Al Wyche, who owns Beechwood Furniture, said Tuesday he does plan to buy the business, but did not want to discuss details until the sale was final. He did not know when the final sale date would be, he said.

Jennifer Bell, editor and general manager of Troup County News, directed inquiries to Wyche.

The Troup County News was started by Judy Murphy in 2005. Murphy died of a heart attack in September at the age of 57.
