Mr. Alfred E. Pye, 83, of LaGrange went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Pye was born November 24, 1928 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Eugene Pye and Corrine Allred Pye. He had lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. Mr. Pye was employed with Goodyear Tire Company and later Skinner Furniture Company as the manager before retiring. After retirement, he was actively employed with the Troup County Convenience Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Elaine Dean Pye and a sister, Nedra Barnes.
Survivors include 1 sister, Barbara Anderson; 1 brother, Kenneth Pye; 4 children, Shelia Saunders, Sharon Fredriksen, Stan Pye, and David Pye; 13 grandchildren, Jenny DeSaussure, Richard Pye, Mike Jones, Chris Jones, Brandon Jones, Scott Jones, Holly Saunders, Kyle Saunders, Stephen Pye, Andrew Pye, Bobby Pye, Brittany Pye, and Zachary Pye; numerous great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Clara McAlister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Max McCord officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
