Bennie Joe Dean, age 75 of 606 Lewis Bryant Road, Pine Mountain, Georgia died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at his home. Mr. Dean was born on May 28, 1937 to the late Ben and Jannie Mae Hixson Dean.

He attended the Public Schools in Harris County. He was of the Methodist faith and he attended Smith Chapel U.M.E. Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

He was married to the late Leavonia Hadley Dean and he held employment with Callaway Gardens, employment that he dearly loved where he acquired the skills of playing golf. Survivors include three sons, Joe Lewis Hadley and Michael Hadley both of Pine Mountain, Ga. and Jimmy Lee Hadley of Lagrange, Ga.; two daughters, Bonnie Kate Gates (Chester) and Shirley Moss (Robert) both of Pine Mountain, Ga.; a brother, Albert Dean of Columbus, Ga.; nieces, Penny Dean and Janice Culpepper both of Atlanta, Ga.; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bennie Joe Dean wil be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Chapel U.M.E. Church in Pine Mountain, Ga. Rev. W.J. Clark will officiate with burial at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Bonnie Gates at 134 Church Street, Apt.#19, Pine Mountain, Ga.
