LaGrange Art Museum fall fundraiser
LaGrange Art Museum’s fall fundraiser, Art for Art’s Sake, will be held at the former home of Milliken designer Carl Tait at 5656 Hamilton Road on Friday. Early entry into the art sale, offering pieces by more than 100 artists, is $100 per person and general admission is 6:30 p.m. for $75 per person. An auction is 8:30 p.m. for a seven-day trip for four to Tuscany, Italy. Live music with food and drinks offered. Belk’s coupons to benefit Humane Society
Belk’s Charity Days event is Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the LaGrange Troup County Humane Society has $5 coupons for sale at the Humane Society office on Orchard Hill Road, or to purchase from any volunteer, or by calling 706-298-3608 for more information. All proceeds stay with the Humane Society.
Lafayette Christian School hosts events for mission trip
Lafayette Christian School team members host a turkey shoot and archery competitions Nov. 10 to raise funds for a mission trip to Alaska.
•The turkey shoot begins at 9 a.m. at the school. There will be lots of prizes including turkeys, hams, bacon, ribs and turkey fryers. There will be grand prize shoots for Mossberg 935 12-guage, Marlin 917S 17HMR and New England Partner Pump 20-guage guns. There will be combo shoots, ladies shoots and kids 12 and under shoots. No modified barrels, no extra full chokes, no barrel extensions, no scopes, no 10 guages and no alcohol.
•Kids archery, ages 9 to 15, will begin at 9 a.m. in the gym. Bows and arrows provided. There will be trophies and cash prizes. Kids must register by Nov. 2 at Lafayette Christian School. The competition fee is $25.
•3D Archery, ages 16 and up, will begin at 1 p.m. Meet at the gym. Competitors must bring their own bow and arrows. There will be first-, second- and third-place winners. Participants must register by Nov. 2. Registration forms are available at Lafayette Christian School. The competition fee is $25.

Church hosts bake sale for mission trips
Callaway Baptist Church Women on Missions Organization, 310 John Lovelace Road, hosts a Book and Bake Sale on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Books, board games, puzzles, family movies and home-baked goods will be for sale with all proceeds going toward the church’s 2012 Lottie Moon offerings for international missions.
Toy run motorcycle ride for veterans’ children
A toy run for veterans’ children is Nov. 17, starting at Elks Club, 905 S. Davis Road, with registration at 9 a.m. and kick-stands up at 11:30 a.m. The ride stops at Chatters and White Tail Pub and ends at Pyne Road Park. Participants should bring a new toy or donation. The ride is sponsored by the Iron Cross motorcycle group, Crossmen Support Club, VFW Post 4629, VFW 4629 motorcycle group, Disabled American Veterans and D.A.D.
