Campaign was sleazy

Dear Editor,

I just returned from a 8 day vacation in Colorado.

I feel compelled to share about the shocking advertisements that we saw hour on end attacking Romney in every way possible. In 44 years of voting it was the sleaziest campaign of character assassination and vicious lies against a good man regardless of whether you agreed with his ideas.

I understand this was the strategy of the democrats in swing states. One Latino young man was shown blaming Romney and his counterparts in Congress for doing away with tax credits for wind energy and therefore cost his job even though Romney has never been in Congress. Another ad showed people of all ages saying Romney is against all of them. Another showed a paper plant that closed and it was Romney’s fault even though the need for paper is diminishing with our move to a paperless society. Another ad said Romney is already taking away women’s access to contraception. Many more and every time ended with Obama saying he approved this message.

Sandy Lees letter talked about hurt feelings. There is always two sides to a story. As despicable as the KKK is so was pictures of the black panthers in black swat garb standing at election doors to intimidate white voters. Also language does hurt. I was watching Ed on The Ed show and heard him say he hopes Dick Cheney burns in Hell. He called Republicans the crazies and other things that should not even be allowed on TV. Chris Matthews stated he was happy that Sandy happened even though it killed over a hundred and homes are destroyed since it gave Obama more TV coverage. It will be hard for healing when the attack on Republicans has not stopped even though the election is over. Yes Sandy the county is divided down the middle and there will be another election in two years so we will see what happens then.
