Mike Lanier, 64, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2012.
Mike was born January 2, 1948 in LaGrange, son of the late LaFayette Eugene Lanier and Mary Parker Lanier. He was a member of Oakside Baptist Church. He worked for many years with Bellsouth in LaGrange and Columbus. Mike was an avid golfer, and golfing was his passion. He was a member of the Callaway Gardens Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Lanier; sons, Shane Lanier and Chris (Brenda) Lanier; grandchildren, Ashley, Logan, Kristen, Mason and Dylan; sisters, Helen Lewis, Ellen Nichols, Frances Wright, and Faye Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mike Lanier will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The family will gather to receive friends immediately following the service.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the American Diabetes Associateion (www.diabetes.org) in memory of Mike Lanier.
