Mr. Frank Thomas Jr. of LaGrange passed away Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.

Mr. Thomas, a native of Troup County, was born September 13, 1963, and was the son of Mary Lou Banks and the late Frank “Cane Fish” Thomas Sr. He attended school in the LaGrange School System and was later employed at the Valway Plant of Milliken and Company. He was an avid sports fan; his favorite team being the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Mary Lou Banks, LaGrange; his child, Marcus Cotton, LaGrange; two grandchildren: Jaiden Cotton and Germany Smith, LaGrange; two sisters: Linda (Gerald Richmond) Childs, Opelika, AL; Teresa (Arthur) Epps, LaGrange; two brothers: Ricky (Regina) Thomas and David Thomas, LaGrange; aunts: Alice Bryant, Syracuse, NY; Sarah Ellis, Ella Mae Avery, both of LaFayette, AL; Lilly (Bobby) Brock, Auburn, AL; Annie Lou Thomas of Valley, AL; one uncle, Albert (Annie Pearl) Spence, LaFayette, AL; nieces, nephews, his best friend Calvin Gates; special family friend: Jeraldine Moore Goodman, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Frances Spence; and sister, Dorothy Ann Banks.

The Celebration of Life Service will be today, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 1:00PM at the Confidence Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Rowland will officiate. Burial will be in the Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his sister, Teresa Epps at 300 Fair Street and at the home of his mother, Mary Lou Banks at 7B Habersham.
