Miss Sylvia Lynn McGill, 56, of Macon, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, following a yearlong illness.

Born Mar. 16, 1956, Miss McGill was a daughter of the late Zelma Leondas McGill and Velma Hanners McGill. She had lived in Macon since 1968, was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and was employed as a graphic artist for L-3 Communications. She was considered the anchor of her family.

Survivors include her brothers and sister in-law, Jeffrey and Christy McGill, Michael McGill; sister, Patricia Franklin, all of Macon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Harry Cain will officiate, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 tonight.
