Man beaten, robbed Monday night

A man said he was robbed by two men while walking from a residence Monday.

LaGrange police officers responded to West Point Street about 9:15 p.m., where the victim told police that he was followed by two men on North Barnard Street shortly after leaving Wood Glenn Apartment complex. They continued to follow him as he crossed Hogansville Road and began walking down Curan Avenue onto West Point Street.

The victim said he was at a driveway on Sirrine Street when one of the suspects suddenly grabbed him from behind while the other suspect began hitting the victim in the face. The men threw the victim to the ground and the continued to kick and punch him, before taking the his wallet with about $700. The suspects fled down West Point Street toward Barry Avenue.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

The suspects were described as two black males, early to mid 20s, both about 6 feet with medium builds and wearing blue jeans and black boots, one wearing a black Carhartt-like jacket and one wearing a tan or brown Carhartt-like jacket.

LaGrange police were investigating.
