Charlie Alvin “Pee Wee” Mooty, formerly of LaGrange, passed away in Philadelphia.

Mr. Mooty, a native of LaGrange, was born October 24, 1948 and was the son of the late Annie and Cooper Mooty. He attended East Depot and Ethel W. Kight High Schools. He was retired from the Philadelphia Water Department after more than 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Carleece Mooty; daughter, Quantas Johnson; two sons: Brandin and Thomas Mooty, Philadelphia, PA; two sisters: Dorothy Hill (Rev. William), LaGrange; Constance Mooty, Denver, CO; three brothers: James of Philadelphia, PA, Lonnie and Gary Mooty, Denver, CO; nine grandchildren: Quamir, Malik, Imani, Ba’Hiyah, Madison, Kaden, Lauren, Breylon and Kodi; aunts: Emma Dunson and Lucille McFarland of Ohio; Mary Amos, Atlanta; Dolly Jackson, Marietta, GA; special cousin, Tommy Dunson, Dayton, OH; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and his beloved dog, Spark.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, February 15, 2013, at 11:00AM at the Saint Paul Baptist Church, Union Street. Rev. Johnnie Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Rev. William Hill at 241 North Barnard Avenue.
