Service to benefit cancer patient
Stay Strong Raven, a praise, love and worship service for Raven Varner, who was diagnosed with a rare stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer at age 18, is set for 5 p.m. March 16 at Underground Studio, 1605 Vernon Road Suite 2500 on the lower level. Camp Viola annual fundraiser set for March
Camp Viola’s annual fundraiser roast in honor of Frankie Fling Newman is March 22 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased from Camp Viola board members or by calling Jerry Cleaveland at 706-882-0018 or Dan Saylors at 706-302-7545.
Tournament to sponsor player
Marion Shealey hosts a golf tournament March 23 to sponsor Muhammed Nu-Man to attend the 2013 American High School Golf Championship in St. Andrews, Scotland. The golf outing is at The Fields golf course, 257 Smith Road. Tee time is noon. The tournament will be a four-person scramble and entry is $300 per team or $75 per player. True Life chili sale

Relay for Life 20th Anniversary
The American Cancer Society will host the 20th Anniversary Relay For Life of Troup County on April 26 and 27 at Whitesville Road Track. Teams may register at www.relayforlife.org/troupga.
