Drug investigations led agents to arrest six at a LaGrange residence Thursday night.
According to a sheriff’s report, drug agents with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office and LaGrange Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence in the 800 block of Buchanan Street on Thursday, which stemmed from a joint investigation of drugs being sold from the residence.
Upon arrival at the residence at 7:40 p.m., agents made contact with a male on the front porch, and the front door was open, but was immediately closed and secured as agents approached. An occupant inside the residence opened the door, after several unsuccessful attempts by agents to forcibly open the door. It was later observed that the door was equipped with metal brackets and four surveillance cameras were installed on the front porch and both sides of the residence, which were monitored from within the residence.
Inside the residence, agents made contact with two females and four males, two of which were seen walking from the bathroom of the residence with wet hands and arms, the report said. Agents secured the two and cleared the rest of the house.
Upon entering the bathroom, agents noticed the floor was partially covered with water around the toilet and suspected marijuana residue was seen on the toilet seat. At the entrance of the bathroom, agents found a plastic corner bag filled with marijuana, which at that point became obvious to agents that the occupants had secured the front door in order to have time to destroy illegal drugs through the toilet.
Throughout a search of the house agents found a set of digital scales under the couch, cigar paper that appeared to be used for a marijuana blunt, sandwich bags in and outside of trashcans with the corners torn out which is the common way illegal narcotics are packaged for resale, and a set of digital scales on top of the refrigerator.
Agents took another look at the toilet and observed that it was stopped up and water was not able to pass through it. The toilet was removed from the floor and turned to its side, where agents saw what appeared to be a substantial amount of marijuana packaged in plastic bags. The toilet was taken to the sheriff’s office to remove the marijuana.
Those arrested and charged in this incident for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, obstruction and tampering with evidence are Borvius Anzale Slaton, 27, Lachevious Rakim Mahone, 24, Quintavious Keon Brooks, 22, Sheena Lashay Flowers, 25, Audreal Shakera Gates, 20, all of LaGrange and Quedell Narada Gore, 31, of Pine Mountain.
Mahone was also charged with giving a false name and $1,451 was seized from him. Agents seized $1,576 from Slaton.
